Neeraj Chopra, an Indian javelin thrower and well-known personality in international athletics, has been formally declared out for the rest of the 2026 season. He suffered an ankle ligament tear, which would necessitate prolonged recuperation and rehabilitation, which is the reason for this major setback.
The Olympic and world champion claimed that he got hurt soon after making the finest throw of the season in Lausanne, where he thought he was at last discovering the rhythm he had been looking for.
“Unfortunately, I had an ankle ligament tear during training shortly after. We’ve decided that I will miss the remainder of this season after talking with my physicians and team,” Chopra stated.
Chopra, who was anticipated to be one of India’s top medal prospects, will also miss the forthcoming Asian Games due to the setback.
