Voter Adhikar Yatra : BJP Hits Out At Rahul Gandhi For His ‘Vote Chori Hydrogen Bomb’ Remark

New Delhi : Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday launched a fresh attack on the BJP-led central government, warning that the Congress would soon drop a “hydrogen bomb” of revelations on alleged voter list manipulation. I want to tell BJP leaders, have you heard of anything bigger than an atom bomb? It is a hydrogen bomb. Be ready, a hydrogen bomb is coming. Very soon, the truth about vote theft will be out, Gandhi said.

The Congress leader added, I guarantee you, once the hydrogen bomb explodes, Narendra Modi will not be able to show his face to the country. I raised the slogan ‘vote chor, gaddi chhod’ here, and people picked it up. Now it’s being echoed even in China, and people in America are saying it too, Gandhi told reporters at the conclusion of the INDIA bloc’s Voter Adhikar Yatra in Patna.

The BJP swiftly hit back at Gandhi’s remarks, dismissing his so-called “bombs” as mere duds and questioning why the Congress leader has not submitted the affidavit sought by the Election Commission if his allegations are true. What he called an atom bomb has turned out to be a dud. What do atom bombs and hydrogen bombs have to do with elections?” Ravi Shankar Prasad, a BJP MP from Patna Sahib, asked.

He said that as the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi is acting irresponsibly and that his conduct should be decent. Over 21 lakh dead people have been found on the electoral rolls. Should they continue to remain there? Rahul Gandhi must answer this. Why is he refusing to submit an affidavit? He knows that if he lies in it, legal action will follow, the BJP MP said.

The Congress cited instances of alleged voter list manipulation, including the deletion of genuine voters and the addition of fake or duplicate names, in the Mahadevapura assembly segment under the Bengaluru Central Lok Sabha constituency. It also pointed to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in poll-bound Bihar as another example of what it termed “vote chori.” Although Gandhi claimed that the Congress’s next set of revelations would have the impact of a “hydrogen bomb,” neither he nor the party gave any indication of what is coming.
