Tejashwi Yadav Sets Nov 18 Oath Date, Accuses NDA of Using Central Forces to Rig Bihar Polls

Patna: Confident of victory, Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Yadav on Monday announced he will take oath as the Chief Minister of Bihar on November 18. Speaking to reporters in Patna, Yadav launched a scathing attack on the NDA, accusing the alliance of using every possible tactic, including the Election Commission and central police forces, to win the assembly elections.

Allegations Against NDA and PM Modi

Tejashwi Yadav stated that the NDA has violated all decorum during the election campaign. He alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared the stage with individuals of criminal backgrounds. Citing an example, Yadav claimed the Prime Minister patted the back of Vipin Sharma, an accused in the well-known Srijan scam in Bhagalpur.

He further criticized the Prime Minister’s speeches, stating that they failed to present a vision for Bihar’s development and instead brought disrepute to the state globally. Yadav remarked that the Prime Minister’s rhetoric seemed to be influenced by web series.

Claims of Misusing Central Forces

Yadav accused the BJP of attempting to rig the elections by deploying central police force units from BJP-ruled states to Bihar. He pointed out that while forces were called in from Nagaland, police personnel stationed in neighboring Jharkhand and West Bengal were kept away from election duty in Bihar.

“68 percent of the police observers have been brought in from BJP-ruled states. This has all been done for rigging,” Yadav alleged. He also claimed that Union Home Minister Amit Shah is pressuring officials to ensure votes are cast in favor of the NDA.

‘Zero Tolerance’ and Electoral Promises

The opposition leader accused the ruling party of distributing a bribe of ₹30,000 crore to secure votes, claiming the money was distributed among women at a rate of ₹10,000 each. As a counter-promise, he announced that if his government comes to power, it will deposit ₹30,000 into the accounts of women by January 14.

Yadav asserted that his government would follow a zero-tolerance policy on crime, corruption, and communalism. He vowed that criminals, irrespective of their caste or religion, would be imprisoned before January 26 of next year.

Several senior RJD leaders were present at the press conference, including National General Secretary Abdul Bari Siddiqui, MP Dr. Misa Bharti, Prof. Manoj Kumar Jha, Sanjay Yadav, former minister Alok Kumar Mehta, Treasurer Dr. Sunil Kumar Singh, Chief Spokesperson Shakti Singh Yadav, and State Spokesperson Ejaz Ahmed.
