Pragya Thakur Acquitted In 2008 Malegaon Blast Case By Special NIA Court, Claims Congress Behind False Case Against Her

New Delhi : Days after a special NIA court acquitted Pragya Thakur in the 2008 Malegaon blast case, the former BJP MP made a stunning claim, alleging that she was forced and tortured to take the names of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and others.

I have given everything in writing and named all those whom I was forced to name. They kept saying, Name these people then we won’t beat you. Their main aim was to torture me, she said. Lashing out at the then UPA government, Pragya Thakur alleged that the Congress was behind the false case as part of a larger conspiracy to defame the saffron (Bhagwa) and the armed forces.

Saying it was a victory of dharma, Pragya said, The Congress filed this false case as part of their conspiracy. It had no basis. Congress is anti-religion. It is a party that feeds terrorists. Congress can never become a nationalist party. Seventeen years after a powerful blast rocked Malegaon in Maharashtra, the special NIA court acquitted all seven accused, including Thakur and Lieutenant Colonel Prasad Purohit, on Thursday.

Following the verdict, former Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) officer Mehboob Mujawar told India Today TV that Investigating Officer Param Bir Singh had ordered him to arrest RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat in a bid to push the ‘saffron terror’ narrative. I was directed by Param Bir Singh, and those above him asked me to arrest these individuals — Ram Kalsangra, Sandip Dange, Dilip Patidar, and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat.
