‘No Faith in Constitution’: Devendra Fadnavis slams Rahul Gandhi over Gen Z call, brands him ‘Urban Maoist’

NEW DELHI: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday sharpened his attack on Rahul Gandhi, accusing the Congress leader of speaking in the language of “urban Maoists” and urging Gen Z to destabilize a democratically elected government.
Fadnavis alleged that Gandhi has no respect for the Constitution or the institutions of the country. He further claimed that the Congress leader’s advisors also carry what he described as an “urban Maoist” mindset.
His remarks came a day after Gandhi intensified his criticism of the Election Commission of India (ECI) and repeated his “vote chori” allegations. In a social media post on Thursday evening, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha had written, “The nation’s youth, the nation’s students, the nation’s Gen Z, will defend the Constitution, protect democracy, and stop vote theft. I always stand with them. Jai Hind!”
Responding to the post, Fadnavis told reporters, “This is not about vote theft this is about Rahul Gandhi losing his mental balance. He has no faith in our Constitution and has dismissed every institution created by it. Today, he has openly proved himself to be an urban Maoist by echoing their terminology and calling upon Gen Z to overthrow a constitutionally elected government. But the youth of new India strongly believe in the Constitution and will uphold it.”
