New Delhi : A chain collision involving nearly a dozen vehicles was reported on the Eastern Peripheral Expressway near Dadri in Greater Noida on Friday. The accident occurred near Chakrasainpur village under the Dadri police station limits, triggering a long traffic jam on the busy highway. Several people, including a woman, sustained minor injuries in the accident. They were provided immediate medical assistance and are reported to be out of danger.
Following the collision, traffic movement on the stretch came to a standstill. Police, with the help of toll plaza management, deployed cranes to remove the damaged vehicles from the roadway and gradually clear the congestion. Police personnel remain at the spot to regulate traffic and restore normal movement. Motorists have been advised to drive cautiously, maintain safe distances, and adhere to speed limits during foggy conditions.
The visuals from the accident site show a white car climbed onto the divider with its bonnet severely damaged. A truck stands adjacent to it. Another car is seen stuck under a truck. Responding to the video, Gautam Buddh Nagar (Noida) Police Commissioner office said that the cops are present at the scene and investigation is underway.
“In the said case, the police force is present at the scene, and necessary actions are being taken,” the Police Commissionerate wrote on X (formerly Twitter). The accident took place on the Eastern Peripheral Expressway or Kundli-Ghaziabad-Palwal Expressway, a 135 km long, six-lane wide expressway passing through the states of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
