The Argentine legend, accompanied by select Inter Miami teammates and longtime friends including Luis Suarez, is expected to land in Delhi at 10:45 AM before heading directly to the Leela Palace in Chanakyapuri, where an entire floor has been exclusively booked for his delegation. Staying in the hotel’s Presidential Suites, which reportedly cost between Rs 3.5 lakh and Rs 7 lakh per night, Messi will host private meetings with carefully chosen VIP and corporate guests.
After the chaotic scenes witnessed at Kolkata’s Salt Lake Stadium during Messi’s opening day in India, security arrangements have been significantly strengthened around the World Cup champion at his hotel and all locations on his Monday itinerary.
An NDTV report reveals that multiple VIPs are willing to shell out Rs 1 crore for a chance to meet the global football legend, highlighting Messi’s extraordinary popularity among Indian fans.
Who is Messi meeting in Delhi?
During his first two days in India, Messi travelled to Kolkata, Hyderabad and Mumbai, meeting various A-list personalities including politicians, Bollywood celebrities, footballers and former cricket legends such as Sachin Tendulkar and Harbhajan Singh with his family.
In Delhi, Messi’s schedule includes meetings with the Chief Justice of India (CJI), several members of parliament and prominent sports figures, including cricketers and Olympic and Paralympic medallists.

The Argentine icon will then head to the Arun Jaitley Stadium for a scheduled football clinic featuring select Indian cricketers. Following this, Messi will proceed to Purana Quila for an exclusive Adidas-hosted event, where he will interact with former India cricket captain Rohit Sharma, Paralympic javelin gold medallist Sumit Antil, world boxing champion Nikhat Zareen and Olympic high jumper Nishad Kumar.
Messi is set to leave for the airport around 6:15 PM and depart India at 8 PM, concluding his second tour of the country a visit marked by handshakes, photographs, memorable moments and some controversies.
