DK Shivakumar Breaks Into RSS Anthem In Karnataka Assembly, Video Goes Viral

Bengaluru : Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar triggered a stir in the Assembly when he invoked an RSS song. The incident occurred during the debate on the Chinnaswamy Stadium stampede. While speaking about his political journey, Shivakumar was reminded by Leader of the Opposition R Ashoka of his early association with the RSS.

The moment quickly went viral on social media, with users speculating that Shivakumar’s move could be a cryptic message aimed at the Congress high command. One X user asked, “Is this a direct warning to Siddaramaiah? Is it a message that I am ready to join the BJP if you do not give up the Chief Minister chair?”

Another wrote, “DK Shivakumar sings RSS anthem when Congress is attacking PM Modi for applauding RSS in Independence Day speech. If Congress doesn’t make him CM soon, he will be seen raising ‘Kashi Mathura Baaki Hai’ slogans.” Shivakumar, however, later clarified that there was “no indirect or direct message” in his act. “I have made research on all political parties. I know how RSS is building institutions in Karnataka.

The incident comes just days after Shivakumar struck a contrasting note on August 15, saying the RSS “doesn’t have any history” compared to the Congress’s legacy. RSS is an organisation, we don’t question their credentials or anything. But RSS doesn’t have any history. RSS is a newly-born institution. The Congress party has a longer history in this country, he had told reporters.
