Delhi’s Kartavya Path Dazzles With 1.51 Lakh Diyas and Ramayana Drone Show for Deepotsav | WATCH VIDEO

New Delhi:
The Delhi government hosted a grand Deepotsav celebration at Kartavya Path on Saturday, illuminating the iconic avenue with 1.51 lakh diyas (earthen lamps). The event, held on the occasion of Dhanteras, drew large crowds who gathered to witness a spectacular blend of tradition and technology.

A key highlight of the evening was a Ramayana-themed drone and laser show. Hundreds of drones lit up the night sky, creating formations that narrated key episodes from the epic, including Lord Ram’s exile, his meeting with Hanuman, and the climactic battle with Ravana. The display captivated the audience, bringing ancient stories to life through modern technology.

In addition to the visual spectacle, the event also featured cultural programs and a recitation of the Ram Katha, creating a spiritual and festive atmosphere.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, along with other ministers and dignitaries, attended the event. Speaking to media agency ANI, Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra described the Deepotsav as a historic moment, noting it was the first time the city government had organized a public Diwali event on such a large scale. “The entire Kartavya Path will be illuminated… A drone show based on Ram Katha will also be done. Entire India will see badalti hui Dilli ki jagmagati Diwali (the sparkling Diwali of a changing Delhi),” he said.

The celebration at Kartavya Path mirrors the grand Deepotsav festivities held annually in Ayodhya, which have gained global recognition for setting world records in lighting diyas.
