CBI Closes Sushant Singh Rajput Death Case, Rhea Chakraborty’s Lawyer Expresses Gratitude

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has officially closed its investigation into the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, with a closure report filed in two related cases. This marks the end of nearly five years of intense scrutiny and media speculation surrounding the actor’s tragic death.
Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Mumbai apartment on June 14, 2020. His father filed a case accusing Rhea Chakraborty of abetting suicide and embezzling his son’s money, while Chakraborty had filed a counter-complaint against Rajput’s sisters for wrongful medication.
Rhea Chakraborty’s lawyer, Satish Maneshinde, expressed relief and gratitude, praising the CBI for thoroughly investigating the case and clearing her of all allegations. He also criticized the media for spreading false narratives, which, he stated, caused immense suffering for Chakraborty, who was unjustly imprisoned for 27 days.
The CBI’s closure report, based on forensic analysis, expert opinions, and witness testimonies, concluded that there was no foul play involved in Rajput’s death, ruling out suicide abetment or other criminal activity. The agency confirmed that the actor died by suicide, putting an end to years of conspiracy theories.
