Bengaluru Family Tragedy: Couple Kills Children, Attempts Suicide

In a heartbreaking incident in Bengaluru, a couple allegedly strangled their two young children before attempting to take their own lives. The tragedy unfolded in the RMV Second Stage area, where the bodies of a five-year-old girl and a two-year-old boy were discovered, along with their parents, Anup Kumar, 38, a software engineer, and his 35-year-old wife, Rakhi. Authorities suspect financial distress drove the couple to this extreme act.
The incident came to light on Monday morning when the couple’s domestic help arrived at their residence and found the family unresponsive. Police investigations revealed that Anup and Rakhi, originally from Uttar Pradesh, had been grappling with severe financial difficulties. The children were reportedly strangled, and both parents attempted suicide, though Rakhi survived and is receiving medical treatment, as confirmed by law enforcement officials.
A neighbor, alerted by the absence of the family’s usual morning activity, attempted to check on them but found the door locked. The domestic help’s arrival prompted further investigation, leading to the grim discovery. The police are continuing their probe to uncover additional details surrounding the incident, including the precise circumstances that led to the couple’s devastating decision.
