Western and Central Railways to Implement Mega Blocks This Weekend

Mumbai : Both the lines of the Mumbai that is central line and western line will have blocks on the weekend that is on Saturday and Sunday, commuters travelling through local trains daily will face disruptions.

Western Line :

A Jumbo Block will be conducted for track, signaling, and overhead equipment maintenance between Bhayandar and Vasai Road stations during the night of Saturday/Sunday, March 8th/9th, 2025. The block will be from 23:30 hrs to 03:00 hrs on the UP Fast lines and from 01:15 hrs to 04:45 hrs on the DOWN Fast lines.

According to the release issued by Chief Public relations officer of Western railway that is Vineet Abhishek, durig the block period, all UP and Down Fast line trains will be operated on Slow lines between Virar to Bhayander/Borivali station.During the block, certain UP and DOWN suburban trains will be cancelled. Passengers can obtain detailed information from the Station Masters at the concerned stations. Passengers are advised to be aware of these arrangements.

Central Line:

Central Railway has announced the special traffic and power blocks for ROB girder launch at Kasara station on March 8-9, the first block will take place on March 8, 2025 from 11.40 am to 12.10 pm on UP and DOwn east lines within Kasara Station limits. The Central Railway has scheduled special traffic and power blocks for the installation of a Road Over Bridge (ROB) girder at Kasara station. This infrastructure work will take place in two phases on Saturday, March 8, and Sunday, March 9, 2025.According to railway authorities, the first block will occur on March 8, 2025 (Saturday) from 11:40 AM to 12:10 PM on the Up and Down North East lines within the Kasara station area. The second block is set for March 9, 2025 (Sunday) from 11:40 AM to 12:10 PM on the same lines at Kasara station. A third block will be held on March 9, 2025 (Sunday) from 4:00 PM to 4:25 PM on the Up and Down North East lines within Kasara station limits.

As a result of these blocks, certain suburban train services will be either short-terminated or short-originated. The Kasara local (N-11) departing from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) at 9:34 AM on both March 8 and 9 will be short-terminated at Asangaon. The Kasara local (N-19) leaving CSMT at 1:10 PM on March 9 will be short-terminated at Kalyan. The CSMT-bound local (N-16), scheduled to depart Kasara at 11:10 AM on both March 8 and 9, will short-originate from Asangaon. The CSMT-bound local (N-26) scheduled to depart Kasara at 4:16 PM on March 9 will short-originate from Kalyan. The railway administration has assured that all necessary precautions will be taken to minimize disruptions and complete the work as per schedule. Passengers are advised to check for updates through official railway channels before travelling.
