After 40 Years, BJP Set To Make Ritu Tawde As Mayor, Sena’s Ghadi Deputy

Mumbai : After the Mahayutis coalition triumph in BMC polls of Maharashtra, BJP candidate Ritu Tawde is set to file nomination for the mayoral post. She is a corporator from ward 132 in ghatkopar who has been re-elected by the people while for the post of Deputy Mayor, Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) alliance has nominated leader Sanjay Shankar Ghadi. 

Ritu Tawde despite being maharashtrian has managed to gain votes in a gujarati dominated ward. She is known for her grassroot level job and resolving community matters at ground level. She is very communicative and has the capability to resolve local civic matters as per BJP leaders. 

She used to be a congress later but later on in 2012 she joined hands with BJP. She has served as the chairperson of the BMC’s Education Committee and is currently working as the Vice President of Maharashtra Pradesh Mahila Morcha. Now, she has been re-elected in third consecutive term from ghatkopar as a corporator.
