Mumbai’s GSB Seva Mandal Gets Rs 703 Crore Insurance Cover For Ganesh Chaturthi

For the forthcoming Ganpati festival celebration, the GSB Seva Mandal in Mumbai has obtained a substantial insurance coverage of Rs 703.27 crore, up from Rs 474 crore the previous year, according to organizers on Sunday.

Over 66 kilograms of gold and 335 kg of silver jewelry will be used to embellish the deity’s idol during its five-day festival celebration, according to the statement. On September 14, the 10-day Ganpati celebration will start. The event is held at King’s Circle by the GSB Seva Mandal, which is regarded as the wealthiest Ganesh mandal in Mumbai and draws a sizable number of devotees.

The mandal announced that the 72nd Ganeshotsav will take place across five days, from September 14 to September 18. The idol will be presented for the first time on September 12 at 8 p.m. during the “Virat Darshan” event.

“We have purchased Rs 703.27 crore worth of Ganeshotsav insurance this year. As a responsible mandal, it is our duty to guaranty each devotee’s safety and security,” according to a statement from its spokesperson, Amit Pai.

The organizers said that the Maha Ganpati statue is environmentally friendly and that devotees and sevadars (volunteers) typically donate the valuable jewels and gold and silver decorations.

Over two lakh individuals will get prasad throughout the five-day festival, and over 40,000 people are anticipated to benefit from the “annadaan seva” (food charity service) each day, according to the mandal.

According to Vedic customs and scriptures, a number of prayers and services will be offered during the festival.

In order to cut down on paper waste and encourage an eco-friendly celebration, the mandal has also switched from traditional printed receipts to digital ones.
