Mumbai – Central, Harbour, and Western railway lines in Mumbai will face disruptions today due to a scheduled megablock for essential maintenance and engineering works, as announced by railway authorities. Commuters are advised to check train schedules carefully to avoid inconvenience during their Sunday travel plans.
On the Central Railway’s Main Line, a megablock will affect the up and down fast tracks between Matunga and Mulund from 11:05 AM to 3:45 PM. During this period, fast-line local trains will be rerouted to the slow tracks, potentially causing delays of up to 15 minutes for some services. This diversion aims to minimize disruption while allowing critical maintenance work to proceed.
The Harbour Line will also experience a megablock, with services suspended between Kurla and Vashi from 11:10 AM to 4:10 PM. To accommodate passengers, special local trains will operate between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and Kurla, as well as between Vashi and Panvel, during the block hours. Commuters traveling on this route are encouraged to explore alternative options, such as using the Main Line or Western Railway services, to reach their destinations.

Western Railway will implement a megablock on the up and down slow tracks between Borivali and Goregaon from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Some local trains will be canceled, while others will be diverted to the fast tracks, potentially leading to crowding and minor delays. Passengers are urged to plan their journeys accordingly and allow extra time for travel.
These megablocks are part of routine maintenance to ensure the safety and reliability of Mumbai’s suburban railway network, a lifeline for millions of daily commuters. Authorities have emphasized the importance of these works to maintain infrastructure integrity. For the latest updates on train schedules and disruptions, passengers should refer to official railway announcements or station information boards.
