Central And Western Railway Undertaking Infrastructure Work
The railway authorities stated that the maintenance work is necessary to improve operational efficiency and ensure passenger safety on Mumbai’s suburban railway system, one of the busiest commuter rail networks in the world.
The disruption is likely to impact late-night passengers on Friday as well as early-morning commuters on Saturday, especially those travelling from Kasara, Karjat, Ambarnath, Titwala, Kalyan, and Thane. Railway authorities have urged commuters to verify train schedules before leaving for their journey and arrange alternative transport options if required.
Central Railway will undertake a special block at Diva due to launching of girders for a new Foot over bridge on saturday night which is why local train services between thane and kalyan will remain suspended due to the block. Some trains will be allowed to run on fast tracks and may skip halts at Thakurli and Kopar, resulting in delays of up to 15 minutes.
