India’s Largest and Safest Banks, RBI and SBI, Issue Warning to Account Holders

The cases in the deepfake videos has been on rise since the artificial intelligence’s technology is getting upgraded day by day. Even the country’s largest bank has under the influence of the RBI, RBI has warned in this matter and has advised to be careful of the deepfakes. Apart from this, one of the safest banks in the country, that is State Bank of India has also advised to be especially careful in the case of deepfakes.

SBI has warned its customers and citizens about the increasing spread of deep fake videos being spread on social media. In this video, a false claim has been made to invest in SBI. THe bank has clarified that neither its employees not top management support such fraudulent schemes. SBI has warned users about the deepfake idoes by posting it on social media platform of X.

SBI has informed its customers that a deepfake video of SBI is going viral on social media in which misleading beliefs have been spread. In this video, it has been recommended to invest in a fake scheme in the name of SBI. However, SBI has clarified that there is no such investment scheme.

The tips to avoid :

  1. If someone portrays as SBI official claiming to be on video call, that can be a scam
  2. To identify , a deep fake video have to watch that video very carefully.
  3. Deep Fake videos can be easily identified from lip sync and facial expressions
  4. To avoid bank fraud, you should keep a strong password and keep checking your account from time to time .
  5. Keep your personal information safe, avoid sharing your details with any official or unknown people
  6. Along with secure software, turn on two-factor authentication to avoid fraud.
