Mumbai Local Train Services Disrupted Today Due to Megablock

Mumbai’s suburban rail network will experience significant interruptions on Sunday, July 27, 2025, as Central Railway implements a mega block for essential maintenance. The scheduled works will affect services on the Main and Harbour lines, particularly between Thane-Kalyan and Vashi-Panvel, causing delays and cancellations for commuters.
From 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, slow and semi-fast trains departing Kalyan between 10:36 AM and 3:51 PM will be rerouted to the fast line from Kalyan to Mulund, stopping at Dombivli, Diva, Mumbra, Kalwa, and Thane before returning to the slow line at Mulund. These trains are expected to arrive at their destinations 10 minutes late. Thane local services will continue to operate on the down slow line, but all slow trains to and from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) during the same period will also face 10-minute delays.
On the Harbour Line, services between Panvel and Vashi will be suspended from 11:05 AM to 4:05 PM, excluding the Port line. Trains from Panvel to CSMT between 10:33 AM and 5:07 PM will be cancelled, as will services from CSMT to Panvel and Belapur between 9:45 AM and 3:44 PM. Additionally, Trans-Harbour line services from Panvel to Thane (11:02 AM to 4:26 PM) and from Thane to Panvel (10:01 AM to 4:24 PM) will not operate. To mitigate the impact, special local trains will run between CSMT and Vashi, and Trans-Harbour services will remain available between Thane and Vashi/Nerul. A separate block at Panvel station, linked to the Mumbai Rail Vikas Corporation, will occur from 11:05 AM to 5:05 PM.
Central Railway officials emphasized that these maintenance blocks are critical for ensuring infrastructure safety and reliability. They urged passengers to plan their travel accordingly and apologized for the inconvenience caused.
