2 Dead, 1 Injured After Speeding Skoda Crashes Into Railing on Mumbai-Pune Expressway in Maval Taluka

Mumbai: Two people were killed and one seriously injured after a speeding Skoda car lost control and crashed into an iron safety railing on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway in Maval Taluka. The car, bearing an MH 12 number plate registered with the Pune RTO, was travelling from Mumbai towards Pune at the time of the accident.
Visuals shared by mumbai.insight showed the iron railing piercing through the front windshield of the black Skoda, with the sunroof also visibly damaged. A crowd had gathered at the accident site. Fire department and highway officials reached the spot shortly after the incident. Two people died on the spot, while the third was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Other Recent Accidents on Mumbai-Pune Expressway
In a separate incident, three people were killed and two others seriously injured after three heavy vehicles collided and overturned on the Mumbai-bound carriageway of the expressway near kilometre 38.100 at Borghat. A truck bearing registration number KA-56-2199, travelling from Pune towards Mumbai, allegedly lost control and rammed into two vehicles ahead a truck (RJ-19-GG-4175) and a container truck (MH-04-GR-2874) causing all three to overturn.
Palghar Highway Accident: 13 Dead
In another accident, 13 people were killed on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway near Dhaniwari village in Palghar district. The accident occurred at around 4:00 pm when an Eicher Tempo carrying approximately 30 to 40 passengers travelling for an engagement ceremony allegedly entered the wrong lane of the Mumbai-Gujarat carriageway. The Maharashtra government announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh for the families of the deceased, along with full medical support for the injured.
In an earlier separate incident, a high-speed Ducati motorcycle rammed into a car at Moraj Signal in Sanpada on Palm Beach Road in the early hours, leaving the rider seriously injured.
