Trump Warns Iran to ‘Get Serious Soon’ as Nuclear Talks Stall, Blasts NATO for Staying Sidelines

US President Donald Trump called Iranian negotiators “very different and strange” Thursday, venting frustration over what he described as Iran playing a double game privately seeking a deal while publicly pretending otherwise.

In a Truth Social post on March 26, Trump claimed Iran’s leadership was quietly lobbying for an agreement even as its public statements suggested no such urgency. “They are ‘begging’ us to make a deal… and yet they publicly state that they are only ‘looking at our proposal’. WRONG!!!” he wrote.

The warning that followed was blunt. “They better get serious soon, before it is too late… there is NO TURNING BACK, and it won’t be pretty!” Trump also claimed Iran had been “militarily obliterated” with “zero chance of a comeback”, though he offered no evidence to support either assertion.

In a separate post, Trump turned his fire on NATO, accusing the alliance of doing nothing to back Washington’s actions against Iran. “Nato nations have done absolutely nothing to help with the lunatic nation… of Iran,” he wrote. He insisted the US didn’t need NATO’s help, but made clear he wasn’t letting it go. “I will never forget this very important point in time,” he added.

The remarks landed as diplomatic options appear to be narrowing fast, with Washington showing little sign of softening its position.
