If Iran does not agree to a deal that involves reopening the vital Strait of Hormuz, US President Donald Trump has threatened to destroy Iran’s power plants and bridges. Iranian officials warned young people to create human chains to defend power plants as airstrikes struck two bridges and a train station in Iran. Additionally, Trump warned that if Tehran does not permit traffic to fully restart in the strait—through which a fifth of the world’s oil passes during times of peace—the entire civilization would perish tonight.
Masoud Pezeshkian, the president of Iran, claimed that 14 million individuals, including himself, had offered to fight. Israel claims that its increasing number of strikes are intended to harm Iran’s economy. Today, US-Israeli aircraft also targeted Khorramabad International Airport in the western Iranian province of Lorestan. Meanwhile, Iran opened fire on Saudi Arabia and Israel, forcing the temporary closure of a significant bridge. Iran has rejected the most recent plan, but diplomatic officials said negotiations were still in progress.
Today, US Vice President JD Vance stated that while talks with Iran are ongoing, the Iranians now have the upper hand. He stated at a press conference in Budapest, Hungary, that the United States had mostly met its military goals in the battle in West Asia.
