Trump Boards Air Force One Using Small Stairs After Sniper Nest Found Near Airport

New York : US President Donald Trump boarded Air Force One with a smaller set of stairs on Sunday amid increased security measures at Palm Beach International Airport, after the Secret Service discovered a suspected sniper’s nest. He added that no individuals were found at the scene and that the FBI has taken over the investigation, deploying evidence collection teams and advanced tracking capabilities.
The FBI has since taken the investigatory lead, flying in resources to collect all evidence from the scene and deploying our cell phone analytics capabilities, Patel said. However, the presence of the structure prompted an immediate review of airport security protocols. The FBI said the wooden structure was discovered approximately 200 yards from the section of the airfield where Air Force One had recently been parked. The presidential aircraft was stationed elsewhere at the airport, but ongoing construction forced it closer to an area used by private planes, bringing it into potential visibility of the perch.
FBI Director Patel said investigators are examining who built or used the structure and whether it was connected to any recent security threats. The hunting stand has not yet been connected to any individual, Patel said. Due to the security alert, Trump reportedly boarded Air Force One through the smaller, rear stairs — a measure usually reserved for low-visibility or high-threat situations. The Secret Service made the adjustment to minimise exposure during boarding.
