EAM Jaishankar Begins 3-Day US Visit To Attend Critical Minerals Ministerial

Washington : According to the officials, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar embarks on his 3 day visit to the USA to engage in the Critical Minerals Ministerial called by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. 

During this event, S Jaishankar is expected to meet some senior members of the US administration, as per the officials. The aim is to focus on supply chain resilience, strategic cooperation in critical minerals and clean energy transitions. 

Prior to this event, the US Department of State mentioned in January  that the inaugural ceremony of the Critical Minerals Ministerial which is to be held on Feb 4 will bring partners round the globe to boost cooperation on critical mineral supply chains. 

Furthermore, the US State Department posted, “On February 4, Secretary Rubio will welcome partners from across the globe to the State Department for the inaugural of the Critical Minerals Ministerial. Strengthening critical mineral supply chains with our international partners is vital to America’s economy and national security, technological leadership, and a resilient energy future”. 

India-US ties have been going through a roller-coaster ride as Trump’s repeated claim on peace maker between India and Pakistan then imposing tariff on Indian goods to a whopping 50 % to announce new immigration policy etc has made India to roll eyes on US relations.
