According to officials, Russia launched a series of ballistic missile strikes on Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, resulting in at least 14 injuries and one fatality.
Overnight, some parts of the area were affected. Volodymyr Zelensky, the president of Ukraine, described it as “one of the most massive ballistic attacks on Kyiv” since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion.
According to the Ukrainian military, 18 of the 41 missiles were shot down by air defenses. Additionally, 108 drones were intercepted by the systems.
In the meantime, Ukraine has persisted in attacking Russian locations. According to the Ukrainian military, two Russian oil tankers were struck by drones in the Black Sea.
Although there were no casualties or oil spills, the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, which transports Kazakhstan’s Caspian oil to Russia’s Black Sea port of Novorossiysk, reported that its terminal had been struck.
Separately, the governor of the Stavropol region in southwest Russia claimed that an industrial park fire was caused by a drone strike.
According to the Ukrainian air force, a variety of Russian weaponry, including hypersonic Zircon and Iskander missiles, as well as 125 drones, were used in the most recent attacks on Kyiv.
A store and a dorm were among the residential and non-residential structures damaged in the most recent attacks, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko on Sunday.
Firefighters have been fighting two warehouse fires.
Zelensky stated in his Telegram post that Russia had “used about 1,450 strike drones, more than 1,640 guided bombs and 99 missiles of various types against Ukraine” during the previous week.
The midnight attacks followed Ukraine’s use of drones to damage two warehouses owned by Wildberries, the largest online retailer in Russia, which resulted in eight fatalities and significant burns.
A facility near the city of Tambov, some 295 miles (475 km) southeast of Moscow, resulted in seven fatalities and 25 injuries. At another Wildberries warehouse in Elektrostal, close to the capital, there was one fatality and 37 injuries.
Zelensky stated on Saturday that “Russian strikes on our civilian infrastructure and on our cities and communities” were the reason behind Ukraine’s actions.

Many people refer to wildberries as the Russian version of Amazon. Forbes Russia estimated that the RWB conglomerate, which unites Wildberries with the advertising firm Russ, was worth roughly $12.6 billion (£9.3 billion) in 2026.
Widespread gasoline shortages have resulted from Ukraine’s recent escalation of long-range drone assaults against Russia’s vital energy infrastructure. Kyiv said earlier this month that this had “disabled” around 43% of Russia’s oil processing capacity.
Since Moscow mostly depends on the export of fossil fuels to fund its full-scale invasion, which started in February 2022, Ukraine claims that Russian oil and gas installations are valid targets.
