‘No US Boots on Ground in Gaza’: CENTCOM Chief Confirms as Troops Arrive in Israel

US military personnel began arriving in Israel on Saturday, October 11, to set up a coordination centre aimed at overseeing the ceasefire implementation and post-conflict efforts in Gaza. The head of the US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed the development, emphasizing that American troops will not be deployed inside Gaza.

In a statement shared on X, CENTCOM Commander Admiral Brad Cooper said he had visited Gaza to assess the ground situation and finalize plans for a CENTCOM-led Civil-Military Coordination Center (CMCC). He stated, “America’s sons and daughters in uniform are working to deliver peace in the Middle East in support of the Commander in Chief’s direction. This historic effort will see no US boots on the ground in Gaza.”

Earlier in the week, senior US officials announced that around 200 military personnel would be sent to manage the CMCC under CENTCOM’s direction. The unit’s primary role will be to assist humanitarian relief efforts and provide logistical and security coordination in the region.

The US military will also work alongside a multinational coalition comprising troops from Egypt, Qatar, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates. This taskforce will focus on stabilizing Gaza in the aftermath of the conflict and ensuring safe and coordinated humanitarian operations.
