Gaza : Hamas is releasing the first group of remaining hostages held captive in Gaza. A convoy of Red Cross vehicles is en route to a handover site in southern Gaza to collect additional hostages from Hamas, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said. The Red Cross will transfer the hostages to Israeli troops inside Gaza, who will then escort them to a military facility near Re’im for initial medical and psychological evaluations before reuniting them with their families.
Earlier in the day, Hamas released seven hostages from Gaza City. Arabic channel Al-Arabi reported that Hamas will shortly release the remaining 13 living hostages, leaving no living Israeli hostages in its hands. Hamas’s Shehab channel reports that the transfer will take place in the southern Gaza Strip.
