Iran Warns Of ‘Regret‑Inducing’ Response As Nuke‑Powered US Warship Comes Near

New Delhi : As the waters around Iran hot up with the US alarmingly increasing its military presence, Tehran on Monday. The Islamic Republic of Iran both trusts its capabilities and keeps past experiences in mind, especially the experience of the heroic June battle, and is stronger than ever,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said on Monday, as reported by Iran International.

The aircraft carrier changed course from the South China Sea about a week ago towards the Middle East. The USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group also includes several Arleigh Burke-class destroyers equipped with Tomahawk cruise missiles capable of striking deep into Iran from off its coast. Since early January, the United States has deployed significant military assets to the Middle East, approaching Iranian waters, sending flutters through Tehran’s power corridors after mass protests over inflation and a collapsing currency left at least 5,000 dead.

As Iran’s internet connectivity limps back to normalcy, it is slowly providing a narrow window into the mass killings across the country, especially during the internet blackout that followed protests against Ayatollah Khamenei last December. Several media reports confirm that the US reinforced its United States Central Command (CENTCOM) with the redeployment of 12 F-15E Strike Eagle fighter jets, KC-135 aerial refuellers, and C-130 cargo aircraft to air bases in Jordan.

The aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, equipped with F-35C and F/A-18 fighter jets, has transited the Strait of Malacca and is expected to operate near the Arabian Sea or Persian Gulf, with its transponder switched off for security reasons. These deployments significantly expand US strike capabilities in the region and are accompanied by additional THAAD and Patriot missile batteries across Israel, Qatar, and Jordan to strengthen air defense capabilities among key assets.

Taken together, these deployments give Washington the capability for rapid and wide-ranging strikes against Iran. US President Donald Trump confirmed the military build-up, saying, We have a big flotilla going in that direction, and we’ll see what happens. We have a big force going toward Iran. I’d rather not see anything happen, but we’re watching them [Iran] very closely. Tensions remain high, with Iranian and US officials exchanging threats and warnings.
