Washington: Global markets reacted with relief on Wednesday as the United States and Iran reached a surprise two-week ceasefire agreement, temporarily lifting a tense blockade of the Strait of Hormuz just hours before a deadline set by US President Donald Trump for potential military strikes.
The breakthrough, however, was quickly followed by sharp online mockery from Tehran. An Iranian animation team released a Lego-style video that ridiculed Trump for allegedly “chickening out” at the critical moment.

The animation depicts a plastic Lego figure of Trump consulting US partners about launching strikes on Iran. When Gulf allies decline to take the lead in any direct offensive, the Trump character throws a tantrum before pressing a red button to initiate attacks. The video shows US strikes hitting key Iranian sites in Isfahan and Karaj, along with major power plants and critical infrastructure. In retaliation, Iranian missiles are shown targeting Israel, the UAE (including Abu Dhabi), Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. The clip illustrates resulting global shortages in urea, gas, and oil supplies, and the cancellation of the Bahrain F1 Grand Prix. Iranian Lego figures are then seen repairing the damaged sites. The animation concludes with Trump waking up in a sweat, facing Iran’s 10-point peace proposal.
Accompanying the video was the caption: “The way to crush imperialism has been shown to the world. Trump surrendered. IRAN WON. TACO will always remain TACO.”
TACO is an acronym for “Trump Always Chickens Out,” a term coined by Financial Times columnist Robert Armstrong to describe Trump’s pattern of issuing strong threats on trade or military matters before backing down.

The US and Iran agreed to the two-week ceasefire, described by President Trump as a “double-sided ceasefire” that suspends attacks by both sides, to halt active conflict.
