Iran Mocks Trump Over Strait of Hormuz Ultimatum Amid Rising Tensions

Tehran: Iran has mocked former US President Donald Trump amid rising tensions over the Strait of Hormuz, responding sarcastically to his ultimatum demanding the reopening of the crucial oil route. In a series of tongue-in-cheek remarks, Iranian diplomatic missions joked that they had “lost the keys” to the strait, ridiculing Trump’s aggressive warning.

The sarcastic response came after Trump issued a strongly worded ultimatum, warning Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz or face severe military consequences. He reportedly threatened strikes targeting key infrastructure such as power plants and bridges if Tehran failed to comply within the deadline. 

The ongoing conflict traces back to late February, when joint US-Israeli military operations triggered a wider confrontation across the Middle East. Since then, Iran has restricted or effectively blocked maritime traffic through the strait, a vital global energy corridor responsible for transporting a significant share of the world’s oil supply.
