IndiGo Slapped With ₹1.27 Crore GST Penalty Over ITC, To Challenge Order
Mumbai : A penalty of over Rs. 1.27 crore has been slapped on Indigo related to GST input tax credit and the airline says it will challenge the order. In a filing to BSE, the airlines parent company InterGlobe Aviation said that it has been barred from input tax credit availed and has received penalty along with interest by the office of the Joint Commissioner Of State Tax (appeals) IV Bandra, Mumbai.
Furthermore, the company believes that the order passed by the authorities is erroneous and it has a strong case on merits as suggested by external tax advisors. The fine totalling Rs.1.27 crore is for the period between July 2017 to March 2018.
Although the company claims that there won’t be any financial burden on the company.
