Search Intensifies for Missing Indian-Origin Family Last Seen at Pennsylvania Burger King

Four elderly Indian-origin family members have vanished during a road trip in the United States, prompting an urgent search by authorities. The group, identified as Asha Divan, 85, Kishore Divan, 89, Shailesh Divan, 86, and Gita Divan, 84, was last spotted on July 29, 2025, at a Burger King in Erie, Pennsylvania. They were traveling from Buffalo, New York, to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with plans to continue to Prabhupada’s Palace of Gold in Moundsville, West Virginia, where they had prepaid for lodging.

The family was driving a 2009 lime green Toyota Camry with New York license plate EKW2611. Surveillance footage from the Burger King captured two members of the group entering the restaurant, and their last known credit card transaction occurred at the same location. A Pennsylvania State Police license plate reader detected their vehicle heading south on Interstate 79 at approximately 2:45 PM on July 29. Despite these clues, the family never reached their intended destination in Moundsville, according to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Mike Dougherty reported that cell tower data picked up signals from the family’s phones around 3:00 AM on July 30 in the Moundsville and Wheeling areas, but no further activity has been recorded since. Authorities have released photos of the missing individuals, their vehicle, and Burger King surveillance footage to the public to aid in the search. A missing persons report has been filed in Buffalo, and law enforcement agencies across the region are collaborating to locate the Divans.

Mainak Divan and Vamil Divan, family members, have shared a missing persons poster online, urging anyone with information to come forward. The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office has provided a contact number, 304-843-5422, for tips related to the case. Sheriff Dougherty noted that while there are a few leads, the family remains unlocated, and the investigation continues with support from local and regional authorities, as reported by WTRF.com and WTOV News9.
