Philadelphia, US: Anshul Kuncha, a 28-year-old man based in Hyderabad, India, was in Philadelphia to settle down, but an unfortunate tragedy followed him. On Friday, he was shot in cold blood by a group of shooters while working as a pizza delivery partner.
Anshul was allegedly called to a vacant home for a delivery, where he was ambushed and eventually killed. Anshul’s bereaving sister expressed her loss and approached the Ministry of External Affairs to demand the remains of her brother. She opened up about how Anshul did not wish to go to the US, but the family pressured him, saying, “He didn’t want to go to the US, but we sent him… and [now] look what he ended up in. This is a message to all parents who are sending their children to the US: do not send your kids to the US.” She claimed that her brother was trapped and that it was a clearly deliberate move. Anshul worked as a pizza delivery partner on weekends for extra income, and on the day of the murder, he was assigned to deliver to the Raymond Rosen Homes, a residential complex. CCTV footage showed Anshul walking past the home with the pizzas while being trailed by two people in dark outfits carrying backpacks. The victim was reportedly shot at point-blank range in the head three times and was dumped on the road.

“We don’t have any suspicion… it’s a decoy. As per US media reports, it seems there were two gunmen wearing black masks with backpacks,” the grief-stricken sister expressed in her pain. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, nearly 160 Indian nationals died in the US between 2020 and 2025, and in 2023 alone, 86 cases were recorded. The rising numbers of these unusual, motiveless deaths point to a need for a deeper investigation.
