Dallas: A gunman opened fire at the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) field office in Dallas on Wednesday, killing one person and injuring two others before taking his own life, according to officials.
The Dallas Police Department confirmed that one victim died at the scene while two others were taken to hospital with gunshot wounds. The shooter was later found dead from a self-inflicted wound on the rooftop of a nearby building, local ABC affiliate WFAA reported.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem acknowledged the attack, writing on X (formerly Twitter), “There are multiple injuries and fatalities and the shooter is deceased by a self-inflicted gunshot wound.”
ICE Acting Director Todd Lyons told CNN that preliminary information suggested the attacker may have acted as a sniper.
US Vice President JD Vance also reacted to the shooting, calling it an “obsessive attack on law enforcement, particularly ICE,” and said he was praying for those injured and their families.
The ICE Dallas field office processes detainees and determines whether individuals should be released or held in custody.
Facility previously targeted
This is not the first time the Dallas ICE office has come under threat. In August, officials arrested 36-year-old Bratton Dean Wilkinson after he allegedly entered the facility claiming to have a bomb. Authorities later confirmed he had shown security staff a device he described as a detonator before being taken into custody.
The latest shooting now raises deeper concerns over repeated threats and violence targeting immigration authorities in the US.
