F***ing Negative : Trump Rebukes Netanyahu Over His Response To Gaza Talks

New York : Shortly after Hamas announced that it partially welcomed US President Donald Trump’s 20-point plan to end the war in Gaza, the American leader called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the phone, viewing it as a positive sign. The militant organisation said it was ready to negotiate the hostages’ release in return for a full Israeli withdrawal from the besieged enclave and would be part of a Palestinian national framework.

Netanyahu told Trump during the phone call on October 3 that Hamas’s partial response was nothing to celebrate… It doesn’t mean anything, reports Axios. Trump, however, shot back at the Prime Minister and said, I don’t know why you’re always so f***ing negative.

This is a win, take it. He was fine with it. He’s got to be fine with it. He has no choice. As the deadline for Hamas to cede power and control in Gaza as per the peace plan ended at 6 pm on Sunday (3.30 am IST on Monday), Trump said he expected negotiations to take a couple of days and was told the first phase would be completed this week, while urging negotiators to move fast.

Indirect talks between Israel and Hamas are set to begin today in Egypt’s resort city of Sharm el-Sheikh, which has hosted numerous peace talks over the years. Negotiators from the US — Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner — will also attend the talks. While 170,000 people have been injured, nearly all of Gaza’s residents have been displaced, many multiple times.
