Macron’s 3 Day India Tour Kicks Off In Mumbai, Bilateral Talks With PM Modi Next

Mumbai : On February 16, French President Emmanuel Macron will arrive in Mumbai at late night commencing a three day official visit to India emphasizing on innovation, technology and bilateral agreement, with Mumbai hosting its first and most eventful leg of the tour.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) , President Emmanuel Macron along with his first lady Brigitte Macron will arrive at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport around 11:50 pm.
Starting on February 17, which is Tuesday PM Modi will have intensive engagements with President Macron at Lok Bhavan in Mumbai. The leaders are set to indulge in conversation about the roadmap to India-France Horizon 2047 and consider views on how to deepen ties across defence, innovation, technology, India-Pacific and climate change.

Next, both the leaders will exchange memorandum of understanding and address the press at Darbar hall in Raj Bhawan. Through this agreement the ties between the two nations seems to strengthen more in aspects of the innovation-driven sector and strategic areas.
The India–France Year of Innovation and Cultural Commemoration 2026 will be jointly inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi and President Macron at the Gateway of India later this evening. The year-long program, which will be commemorated in both countries, intends to strengthen connections in the areas of innovation, technology, culture, and interpersonal interactions.

Macron’s visit, according to the MEA, coincides with India’s efforts to expand and fortify strategic alliances, particularly in the fields of artificial intelligence and sophisticated defense technologies. The fact that this is Macron’s fourth visit to India at Prime Minister Modi’s invitation further illustrates the ongoing momentum in the India-France Strategic Partnership.
President Macron will go to New Delhi to attend the India AI Impact Summit 2026 after wrapping up his commitments in Mumbai.
