Deadly Car Bomb Blast Rocks Balochistan Market, Killing Four And Injuring 20

A powerful car bomb blast tore through a market in Pakistan’s troubled Balochistan province on Sunday, killing at least four people and leaving 20 others. The explosion occurred near Jabbar Market in the Killa Abdullah district, situated close to the Frontier Corps (FC) Fort. The blast caused several shops to collapse and ignited fires in surrounding buildings, triggering panic among shoppers and local residents.

According to Killa Abdullah Deputy Commissioner Riaz Khan, the attack claimed the lives of four individuals, while the injured included a security guard of prominent tribal elder Haji Faizullah Khan Ghabizai and multiple bystanders.

Moments after the blast, a brief exchange of gunfire erupted between unidentified attackers and Frontier Corps personnel stationed nearby. No group has yet taken the responsibility of the act. Security forces swiftly cordoned off the area and launched a search and clearance operation to track down the perpetrators. Authorities have yet to confirm who was behind the attack, but suspicions point toward militant factions operating in the restive region.

This incident comes amid a renewed wave of violence in Balochistan, which has long been plagued by insurgent activity. Just days earlier, four Levies personnel were killed in an ambush at a checkpoint in the Nal area of Khuzdar district.

For nearly two decades, Balochistan has faced ongoing unrest, with local nationalist groups accusing the federal government of marginalizing the province and exploiting its rich natural resources.
