BTS Star Suga Makes Record-Breaking Donation to Launch Autism Treatment Center

Seoul – BTS member Suga, whose real name is Min Yoongi, has made a historic contribution to healthcare by donating an unprecedented sum to Severance Hospital. The donation, the largest ever received by Yonsei Medical Center and its affiliated children’s hospital, has paved the way for the establishment of the Min Yoongi Treatment Center in Seoul’s Seodaemun district.
The new facility will specialize in supporting individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) through personalized therapies and innovative programs, including the MIND Program, designed to enhance treatment and promote social integration. Suga’s involvement began in November 2024 when he met with Professor Cheon Geun Ah, head of the hospital’s pediatric psychiatry department. Their shared vision to improve support for children with autism led to the development of this groundbreaking initiative.
Professor Cheon praised Suga’s commitment, noting his “sincere, cerebral, and impactful” efforts, according to Times Now. The artist not only provided financial support but also actively participated in the program’s development, volunteering his time to work directly with children. The Min Yoongi Treatment Center is slated for completion by September 2025 and is expected to become a leading hub for autism treatment and awareness.
