Bahrain BAPCO Refinery Storage Tank Explodes In Massive Fireball After Iranian Attack | Video

Washington: A storage tank at Bahrain’s BAPCO Energies refinery erupted in flames on Sunday following what the company described as an Iranian attack, with circulating videos capturing the dramatic moment of impact and the ensuing blaze.

The incident occurred at the strategic facility on Sitra Island, which has a processing capacity of approximately 400,000 barrels per day. Videos shared on social media, including one purportedly from Iranian state media, appeared to show an aerial object striking the tank, triggering a rapid and powerful explosion that produced a large fireball. Another clip, circulated by RT News, depicted thick black smoke rising into the sky amid raging flames.

Bapco Energies confirmed that one of its storage tanks caught fire as a result of the reported Iranian attack. In a statement, the company said the fire has been extinguished and damage is being assessed. No injuries were reported, according to the update shared via news agency Reuters. Emergency response teams worked in close coordination with authorities to bring the situation under control.

This marks the latest incident at the refinery, which was previously targeted last month amid escalating regional tensions in the Middle East. The development comes against the backdrop of the ongoing US-Israeli war with Iran, following strikes that resulted in the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Hindustan Times could not independently verify the authenticity of the videos circulating online. The refinery remains a key asset in Bahrain’s energy sector, and officials are continuing to evaluate the full extent of the impact.
