Anthony Albanese Says Australia Ready to Welcome PM Modi Soon, Highlights Strong India-Australia Partnership

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has said that it will be a privilege for Australia to host Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the near future, underlining the growing relationship between the two countries.

According to ANI, the remarks were shared by Australian High Commissioner to India Philip Green, who posted a portion of Albanese’s speech highlighting India’s significance as a major partner for Australia.

Albanese stressed that India has become an increasingly important nation for Australia in areas such as economic cooperation, regional security and strategic partnerships.

India-Australia Ties Continue to Expand

The Australian Prime Minister highlighted that relations between India and Australia have strengthened steadily in recent years. The partnership now covers sectors including trade, defence, renewable energy, education, technology and critical minerals.

He also pointed to the role both countries play in supporting a stable and secure Indo-Pacific region. India and Australia are members of the Quad grouping alongside the United States and Japan, which focuses on regional cooperation and security.

Penny Wong Meets PM Modi

The statement came around the same time Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in India. During the meeting, discussions reportedly focused on expanding bilateral cooperation and exploring new opportunities in trade, technology and defence.

Both sides also reaffirmed their commitment to working together for a free, open and secure Indo-Pacific region. The statement has come under scrutiny

Albanese also acknowledged the contribution of the Indian diaspora in Australia, noting that the community continues to grow and strengthen ties between the two nations.
