New York : At a time when Meta is cutting jobs and reshaping its workforce, a hiring update connected to CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s private Hawaii estate has caught widespread attention online.
Reports recently revealed that Zuckerberg’s team is looking to hire a “beach water person” for his luxury ranch in Kauai, Hawaii. The unusual job title quickly went viral, especially because it surfaced while Meta continues to go through major layoffs and restructuring.
According to reports, the role is far more than just a casual beachside job. The person would be responsible for managing water safety around the estate, assisting with activities like surfing, paddleboarding, snorkeling, boating, and helping maintain beach operations on the property. In many ways, the role combines the work of a lifeguard, water sports guide, and private outdoor assistant.
The timing of the hiring has become the biggest talking point. Meta has been reducing staff as the company shifts more focus toward artificial intelligence and long-term tech investments. Thousands of employees across different departments have already been affected by layoffs over the past year, making the luxury ranch recruitment stand out even more.
