‘AI Fantasy’: Pakistan’s Claims Of Massive Damage In Op Sindoor Mocked

Karachi : Forget satellite imagery or photographic evidence, Pakistan seems to have found a simpler way of proving it had the upper hand during Operation Sindoor – a glossy AI-generated video. As Pakistan marked its air force day on Monday. The video, shared by the media wing of the PAF, uses animation and dramatic AI visuals to depict an extraordinary sequence of events that unfolded during the May 2025 hostilities.

The animation also depicts strikes on key facilities, including Parliament, Gujarat’s Kandla Port and INS Vikrant. Pakistan’s digital battlefield triumph doesn’t end there. One graphic prominently declares “32 IAF bases hit”. It is accompanied by claims that four Rafales, one Sukhoi 30MKI, one MiG-29, one Mirage 2000 and one Heron drone were destroyed. If 32 IAF bases were indeed hit, it would be extremely difficult to hide the damage. Yet, Pakistan has not released any before-and-after photographs to date.

Now compare that with the wealth of evidence India released right after Operation Sindoor. India not only released detailed visuals of its strikes on nine terror camps in Pakistan during daily media briefings, but also made public real footage showing the damage inflicted on 11 Pakistani military bases. Independent open-source intelligence (OSINT) and satellite imagery analysis also substantiated the damage Pakistan suffered.

The contrast could hardly be more stark. In other words, while India showed the real damage, Pakistan showed the graphics. Perhaps the most spectacular claim that has been debunked several times in the past is Pakistan destroying S-400 defence systems. The latest PAF video gives it an AI makeover. In fact, Pakistan received a tight slap in the face when Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Adampur Air Force Station just days after the conflict and tactfully stood in front of an intact S-400 system while addressing the personnel.

Titled ‘Declassified: Operation Sindoor’, it provides first-hand accounts of military officials behind the operation. The documentary also showcased never-before-seen footage of the operation and the destruction inflicted on Pakistani military infrastructure. “Comedy Gold! AI credits loaned from Turkey and Saudi,” journalist Abhijit Majumder tweeted. Another political commentator, who posts from the account Bala, said.
