Russian Traveller Hails Guwahati Airport as One of the World’s Most Epic

Russian travel influencer Marina Kharbani has described Guwahati’s Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport as one of the three most impressive airports she has ever visited. After touring the new integrated terminal, she shared her reaction in an Instagram video, calling the facility “epic.”

In the clip, Kharbani stated that despite having been to many airports around the world, Guwahati’s ranked among her personal top three for its striking design. She particularly highlighted the terminal’s distinctive architecture, which draws inspiration from bamboo and orchids elements closely associated with Assam and the broader Northeast region of India. The structure stands apart from conventional airport designs by incorporating these local cultural and natural motifs.

The airport has already gained recognition for its aesthetics. The new integrated terminal was listed among the World’s Most Beautiful Airports for 2026. Kharbani’s comments added an international perspective to the appreciation of its visual appeal and overall experience.

The airport’s official team responded to her video on social media, thanking her for capturing the terminal’s charm and beauty. The reply noted that her positive feedback was meaningful to the staff and encouraged continued efforts to provide a welcoming and memorable experience for travellers.

For the airport, the endorsement from a visitor familiar with global facilities carried particular weight. It underscored how the terminal itself has become a point of interest, turning the arrival or departure experience into part of the journey rather than a purely functional step.

The praise highlights growing attention to thoughtful design in Indian aviation infrastructure and the potential of regional airports to leave a lasting impression on international visitors.
