Rajnath Singh to Chair First Ministerial Meeting on West Asia Crisis

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will chair the first meeting of an informal Group of Ministers on the West Asia crisis on Saturday evening, ANI reported.

The meeting signals a stepped-up response from the Centre, which has been closely monitoring the conflict. On the supply side, the government has moved to reassure citizens that fuel stocks remain adequate despite fears of disruption.

The Ministry of External Affairs is tracking developments on the ground and is coordinating assistance for Indian nationals in the region.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a virtual meeting with Chief Ministers and Lieutenant Governors to review state-level preparedness and assess how the situation could affect India domestically. According to the PMO, Modi acknowledged the suggestions put forward by state leaders and called for heightened vigilance and coordinated action across administrations.
