Rajasthan’s 21 Top IPS Officers Transferred In Massive Shake-up

Jaipur: The Rajasthan government has initiated a sweeping reorganization of its police leadership, ordering the transfer of 21 high-ranking Indian Police Service (IPS) officers. The reshuffle impacted several key positions, including the Police Commissioner of Jodhpur, the Special Commissioner of Jaipur, and two Additional Directors General (ADGs).
The administrative orders, issued late Monday night by the Department of Personnel, reflect a strategic realignment of the state’s security apparatus. A significant highlight of the reshuffle is the appointment of Sharat Kaviraj, formerly the IG of the Special Operations Group (SOG), as the new Police Commissioner of Jodhpur. He replaces Om Prakash, who has been reassigned as the Special Police Commissioner in Jaipur. Concurrently, Rahul Prakash has transitioned from his role as Special Police Commissioner in Jaipur to become the Inspector General (IG) of the Jaipur Range.
The restructuring also includes several promotions. Praful Kumar has been elevated from IG Intelligence to ADG Intelligence, while Raghvendra Suhasa, previously the IG of the Jaipur Range, has been promoted to ADG Training. Within the investigative wings, Vikas Kumar will now focus exclusively on leading the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), whereas Rajesh Singh has been named the new IG of the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS).
Other notable changes include S. Parimal’s move to the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) as IG, and Ajay Pal Lamba’s transition to lead the SOG in Jaipur. Additionally, Rajendra Goyal has been promoted to IG of the Kota Range. These changes, affecting range IGs in Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Bikaner, suggest a broader effort by the state government to refresh leadership across critical regional and specialized units.
