Chandigarh: Under Amritsar Police Commissionerate threats emails were received to various schools and government offices on Monday.
According to Vijay Alam, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) immediate anti-sabotage inspections were carried out at all locations swiftly as a precautionary measure. Search operations by Bomb squad and dog squads were carried out but nothing majorly got discovered.
He further informed that a suspect has been taken into consideration who is in another state and will be produced as part of the investigation to ascertain facts.
Police officials said the commissionerate is obliged to maintain peace and order in the city. Further any details of the incident are awaited.
Security has been intensified at various open spaces such as bus stands, railway stations, and other places across the region. The authorities have asked people to remain calm and don’t fall for any rumours until verified from authoritative sources.
