Fake ‘Mahi’ Instagram Account And ChatGPT: Chargesheet Reveals How Ketan Agarwal Was Allegedly Lured To Lohagad

Pune: A 5,053 page chargesheet filed by Pune Rural Police has laid out an alleged conspiracy behind the death of 26 year old businessman Ketan Agarwal, who was pushed from Lohagad Fort on June 18, according to investigators. Police have accused his fiancée Siya Goyal, her alleged lover Chetan Chaudhary and Ritesh Hange of being involved in the murder.

The chargesheet, filed before the Vadgaon Maval court, reportedly includes WhatsApp chats, photographs, mobile phone data, call detail records, technical analysis and statements from dozens of witnesses. Police have said the evidence points to a planned killing rather than an accidental fall.

At the centre of the alleged plan was a fake Instagram account named “Mahi.” Investigators say the account was created using a photograph of a woman known to the accused and was presented as Siya’s friend. Messages from the account allegedly persuaded Ketan to take Siya to Lohagad for a surprise birthday plan. The account was subsequently deleted, police said.

The chargesheet alleges that the accused had considered several ways of attacking Ketan before deciding to kill him themselves. Investigators claim they watched crime films, used ChatGPT while preparing for the crime and listened to podcasts discussing ways to avoid detection. Police also allege that the accused searched for information about the murder of Raja Raghuvanshi during his honeymoon in Meghalaya.

Lohagad was allegedly selected after the accused surveyed several locations around Lonavala, including Tiger Point. Police say they believed a fatal fall at the fort could be mistaken for an accident because of an earlier death there.

The chargesheet also describes an alleged failed attempt on June 14. According to investigators, Siya allegedly pushed Ketan at Lohagad, but he managed to grab a tree. When questioned, she allegedly claimed she had reacted after seeing a snake. Police further allege that she had earlier insisted on visiting the fort and that Ketan’s passport was later torn and discarded, preventing a planned Bali trip.

On June 18, police allege that Chaudhary reached the fort separately and later joined Siya. When Ketan’s attention was diverted, investigators say Siya pushed him from behind and Chaudhary kicked him, causing the fatal fall.

The chargesheet names three accused and contains extensive digital and witness evidence. However, the allegations remain subject to judicial scrutiny, and the filing itself does not establish guilt.
