Prime Minister Narendra Modi joined South Korean President Lee Jae Myung and Samsung Electronics Executive Chairman Lee Jae-yong for a group selfie during a state luncheon on Monday.
The candid photograph, captured using a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 foldable smartphone reportedly manufactured at Samsung’s facility in Noida, has drawn significant attention online. The device, part of Samsung’s Z Flip series, has been highlighted for its ‘India-made’ credentials, underscoring the company’s manufacturing presence in the country.
The moment occurred at the India-Korea Business Leaders Dialogue held at Hyderabad House in New Delhi. The three leaders posed together, with the viral video clip focusing on the use of the sleek foldable phone, symbolising technological collaboration between India and South Korea.
During the Korean President’s three-day official visit to India, the two nations signed 15 agreements aimed at strengthening bilateral ties. These pacts include the establishment of an industrial cooperation framework to enhance cooperation in trade, defence, and critical technologies.

Prime Minister Modi addressed the business leaders’ dialogue, emphasising the vast potential of the economic partnership between the two countries. In a post on X, he noted that the discussions highlighted opportunities across diverse sectors and that enhanced cooperation could foster growth and prosperity for both nations.
Samsung has long been associated with India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative. Its Noida plant, operational since 1996, ranks as one of the largest mobile manufacturing units globally and serves as India’s second-largest handset exporter after Apple. The company has also expanded its production to include wearables, tablets, and recently laptops.
The viral clip, originally shared via news agency ANI, shows PM Modi posing for the selfie alongside the Korean President (positioned on the extreme right) and the Samsung Chairman, who reportedly took the photograph using the Galaxy Z Flip7.
This light-hearted interaction during high-level diplomatic engagements has captured public interest, illustrating the blend of technology, diplomacy, and economic partnership between India and South Korea.
