Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the BJP’s newly appointed national office-bearers at the party headquarters in New Delhi on Saturday, marking their first meeting since party president Nitin Nabin unveiled his 65-member team on August 17.
“Organisational meetings are all about new ideas and perspectives aimed at strengthening the party and deepening its connect with the people. Great interaction with fellow party colleagues and the new organisational team,” PM Modi wrote on X after the meeting.
Among the prominent appointments in the wider reshuffle were former Union minister Smriti Irani and RSS national executive member Ram Madhav, who returned to key organisational roles.

Earlier in the day, Nabin chaired a meeting of the office-bearers to discuss the party’s organisational strategy, upcoming Assembly elections, grassroots mobilisation, and communication of government initiatives.
Party to prioritise ‘Yuva Samvad’
Nabin asked the newly appointed office-bearers to prioritise “Yuva Samvad,” or continuous engagement with young people.
According to sources, the BJP plans to launch major youth outreach initiatives in the coming days. Discussions focused on devising an effective campaign to reach people aged 14 and above, who comprise the Gen Z and Gen Alpha generations.
The party has begun constituting dedicated teams comprising senior leaders from across the country. The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha has been tasked with helping form and mobilise these teams.
Former national office-bearers will also be given a key role in the outreach programme, sources said.
Party discusses election preparations
The meeting also focused on preparations for upcoming state Assembly elections and strengthening the party’s organisation at the grassroots.
Nabin will hold another organisational review meeting at the BJP headquarters extension from 10 am on Sunday. State BJP presidents, organisational general secretaries, and state in-charges from across the country will attend the meeting.
The party will review preparations for Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Punjab, along with other poll-bound states. Leaders will also discuss party programmes and wider organisational issues.
BJP passes Vande Mataram resolution
The BJP also passed a resolution condemning the Congress Working Committee’s decision to sing only the first two stanzas of Vande Mataram at party events.
The resolution said the BJP would not accept any compromise on the honour and legacy of the national song for “political convenience or appeasement.”
“A political compromise of 1937 cannot be elevated above the constitutional settlement of 1950 and legislation enacted by Parliament in 2026,” the BJP president said.
Parliament on July 30 passed the Prevention of Insults to National Honour (Amendment) Act, 2026, granting Vande Mataram the same legal status as the national anthem, Jana Gana Mana.
