PM Modi Embarks on Key Five-Nation Tour Starting Friday from UAE

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to leave on Friday for an extensive five-nation tour that begins in the United Arab Emirates, according to an official government announcement.

The itinerary includes stops in the UAE, Sweden, and the Netherlands en route to Norway, where Modi will attend the India-Nordic Summit. The summit had been postponed last year following the Pahalgam terrorist attack. The Prime Minister will subsequently travel to Italy to complete the tour.

In the UAE, Modi is scheduled to hold discussions with President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The leaders are expected to review bilateral matters, with a focus on energy cooperation, alongside broader regional and global issues of shared concern. This trip marks Modi’s first visit to a Gulf nation since the outbreak of conflict in West Asia.

The tour underscores India’s continued engagement with key partners in the Gulf and Europe at a time of regional instability. Official sources have highlighted the visit’s importance in strengthening strategic ties, particularly in energy security and multilateral cooperation. Details of additional engagements during the European legs of the journey are expected to be shared closer to the dates.

The government has positioned the visit as an opportunity to advance India’s foreign policy priorities, including enhanced collaboration in trade, technology, and climate initiatives with the Nordic countries and other European partners.
