New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday congratulated V. D. Satheesan after he was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Kerala and assured the newly formed state government of complete support from the Centre.
In a message shared following the oath-taking ceremony, the Prime Minister conveyed his best wishes to Satheesan for his tenure and stated that the Central government would extend every possible assistance to help fulfil the aspirations of the people of Kerala.

VD Satheesan took oath as the Chief Minister in Thiruvananthapuram, marking the return of the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) government in the state after a gap of ten years. Several senior political leaders and dignitaries attended the swearing-in ceremony.
According to ANI, the Prime Minister’s message came shortly after the new Kerala government officially assumed office. Satheesan, a senior Congress leader, had recently led the UDF to a decisive victory in the 2026 Kerala Assembly elections.
The new government in Kerala was sworn in along with a full council of ministers during the ceremony held at Central Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. ANI reported that leaders from different political parties congratulated Satheesan after he assumed office as the state’s new Chief Minister.
